Bang, Bang, BOOM!

Yesterday I had a rude shock at how distasteful Malaysian producers are. To me, this so called local copycat of "PUNK'D" but with bad humor.

For example, in one particular episode there's someone being accused of peddling an unmentioned amount of drugs. There's a police patrol car, policemen armed with sub-machine guns filmed in some open public place. Imagine the poor chap that was being 'framed'. In Malaysia, anyone caught carrying drugs are punishable by law to the death penalty. Imagine the target or the target's family member who was not wary of the prank and has a heart attack. If unforseen incident's happen, who would bear the responsibility? The prankster or the producers of the film? Another concern while using police are would the public be more wary of such pranks and take the authorities lightly? For example, you are stopped for some reason by the REAL authorities but you know that a prank program exists thus you try to be funny and think its all a prank, thus taking whatever being said lightly.. When charges are pressed, who's the one laughing? Can we then sue them, the producers?

In another distasteful prank, there's 2 hillbillies lookalike aka orang kampung looking at the sky, apparently pointing at something, while asking the public to look up. What's so funny about that? Please clean up your act and get some genuine humour rather than some lame ol stuff.

PS: That's the reason why I don't watch locally produced programs.
