Hot Dog or Frankfurter?

Have you ever have cravings for a good hotdog once a while? Tired of eating commercialize and ordinary hotdogs? Well I am...

In Malaysia, there's not much variant and places to get your paws on this delicious food. Let's see what our choices are [to my knowledge]

1) A&W
2) 1901
3) Ramly's?!?

Well as a fact, there's only a handful of these venue but recently there's a new place. A place that caters for American Style Hotdogs.

Its called Danny's Hotdogs situated at the Hartamas Square just along the main road. Its open from 6pm till 3am daily with extended hours for Fridays and Saturdays. Pricing ranges from RM7-RM10 per piece. I've tried the Chili Dog but I got kinda deceived by its name...[maybe I thought it was gonna be spicy] The hotdogs are unique as they aren't available locally, that 's what I assumed... If so, then they'll be lotsa imitation stalls around which there isn't...
I'm not the regular joe and most of my meals that I consume is in large portions but after eating the Chili Dog, I got kinda full. Yep, its kinda large and not surprisingly Americans take them as their lunch...

If you love hotdogs or just wanna try something extra ordinary, just drop by Danny's hotdogs...

PS: What's extra special is that the owner is there to greet you and introduce his product to you rather than selling it to ya. Cheers Larry Martin...

Life is Short

Eat to live or Live to eat?

What is life? Some people believe that when one was born, your whole life has been written down in some books of your death. Its like getting from Point A [Birth] to Point B [Death]. Everyone of us has to go down this miserably lane. Its just the way we reach there is different. Some like to take Concorde, some more conventional mode of transport but rest assured, we WILL all reach our final destination.

So now with that in mind, what's our purpose then being a human being? Since we cannot predict what will happen in the next minute, nevertheless tomorrow. Have we prepare for the worse or preparing for the best in life? Getting married, planning for your future or career?

My guess is that everyone knows that Death is inevitable but none planned of it happening. Its like the Worse Case Scenario show. What if on the way to work, some bloke lose control of their vehicle and there goes your life. You didn't plan that... neither did the bloke. Who's to blame? Who's on the wrong?

I'm writing this is because I've received new that a distance relative of mine passed away due to an car accident yesterday morning while on his way to work. Thinking of it makes me shiver. He's like 30/40 years old, married with a kid of 5 years old. Now the wife has to life all alone in this cruel world struggling (I think) to bring up the child.

Thinking of that makes me realise that Life is so so fragile. Do not live with regrets nor selfishly, live your daily life as tho its your last and you'll always be happy. Enjoy life...

Guides to determine fake RM1 coins

Seeing an article from yesterday's newspaper about someone exchanging RM 160 or something like that and only received RM 130 in returns. The balance was said to be fakes. So how does the public can identify the fakes? Are we at the discression of the Banks? For them to tell us which are fakes and which aren't?!?

So to say, when we are bringin our load to exchange for notes, we're at the mercy of the bank and the 'trusted' machine that sorts the coins?!? How real can that be? Furthermore these 'fakes' will be detained by the bank and will not be returned for fear it will be circulated.

Are the employees at these bank trustable? What if they have found a flaw in the system and they could reap in a small fortune in midst of this incident... Newspapers has written that the public would require to show their identification when exchanging RM500 or more worth of coins... Wow, its like informing, dun bring all yer coins at a go if you don't want to be identified...

I think there should be more transparency in this issue.. don't you think?

Free meals with RM1 coins

This is truely a wonderful or stupid thing that has had happen to me. I've practically saved up so much in just 1 day on meals that I've had starting working at my office. I've tried to use 5 pieces of RM1 coins to pay for lunch today and guess what?!?

The retailer informed me that they don't accept RM1 coins as payment with the following statement "I'll not accept the coins but the change as the payment for the whole meal which cost me RM7.50. Wow saved liked RM5 today. If this were to continue i will be able to save a lot. On the other hand, these business will start to lose out in their daily income OR will not entertain me when go there the next time...

Hmmm..

kinda of an ironic situation isn't it?

The retailer then gave the reason which i find quite amusing. We're not going to the bank to exchange these coins. Come on, you're running a business and you think you'll be only accepting 2 miserable RM1 coins for this 3 months duration? I'm sure that they will be making trips to the bank or will be giving change out. So why the 'KIASU-ISM' when the government will accept for another 3 months.

Even banks are to accept coins exchange up to RM 500 without any ID reference, even so, if there's any suspected fraud cases, the depositor will be penalised not the bank, so why the hassle? Please enlighten me on this as I will keep experimenting with what I can get away with in the following days.

I would like to hear if you have similar experience so that i can SAVE more.. lol

RM 1 coins

Recently the government announced that the acceptance of the RM1 coin will be dishonoured at the end of this year. Major newspapers has this as their frontpage news but not much hoo haa was given by the community.

When the chinese daily publish this in their pages, all most all chinese community went into a frenzy (mine inclusive) digging out their savings and separating these RM1 coins. Chinese traders be it in the wet market or pharmacist or chinese doctors has begun to decline the acceptance of these RM1 coins ahead of the planned date that the government has set.

Even banks are also dishonouring the RM1 coins. They inform me to deposit/change the coins at Bank Negara Malaysia as they will accept these coins. So what happens now? These coins are not entirely worthless or is it? There's so many businesses that rely on these RM1 coins. What will happen to them? Change their system to accept other tenders? Businesses like American Pool Table, Supermarket shopping carts, Autopay machines, Jukebox, Genting slots machine?!?....

If we're buying/dining at the restaurants and gives out some RM1 coins but declined, so can we sue them or decline to pay the balance? Its so vague....

I'm unsure of how much you all have collected but me personally has counted in total of my own savings of over 1K worth in coins over 6 years. Now what am I to do with them? Well for once I know of a method to trade in mine.
^_^
